Planning Board tables Chirico subdivision pending environmental review

Planning Board · Meeting of June 2, 2026

NY WHEATLAND — Wheatland Planning Board tabled the Chirico subdivision application pending additional environmental review. Applicants Anthony and Frank Chirico seek to subdivide their 10-acre Oatka Creek parcel into two 5.014-acre lots in an AR-2 residential district. Chairman Jay Coates determined that the board needs additional information: verification that the proposed house is outside the 100-year flood plain; investigation of an archaeological site; and a Department of Environmental Conservation statement regarding an onsite eagle's nest.

Eli McWinty represented the applicants. Neighbors raised concerns about water quality and sewage impacts. The application was tabled to July 7.
