Wheatland Board approves Water District 3 infrastructure plan

NY WHEATLAND — Wheatland approves $7.4 million Water District 3 infrastructure project. The Town Board unanimously voted to advance the project, which would be financed by a $5 million WIIA Grant and a $1,085,220 USDA Rural Development Grant, leaving the district responsible for approximately $1.3 million. Supervisor Jim Kirch and board members Councilman Steve Call, Councilman Carl Schoenthal, and Councilwoman Tina Stevens approved a public hearing scheduled for July 9, 2026, at Wheatland-Chili High School.
The board also voted unanimously to issue a Negative Declaration under the State Environmental Quality Review Act.
