Wheatland Town Board approves $110K in building repairs, extends solar moratorium

NY WHEATLAND — Wheatland Town Board unanimously approved $53,969.36 for Donnelly House repairs and $56,122.16 for Municipal Building improvements, both subject to permissive referendum, and extended a moratorium on large-scale solar energy systems for an additional six months. Supervisor Jim Kirch, with Councilmembers Steve Call, Tim Davis, and Tina Stevens, also voted unanimously to declare the town as Lead Agency for environmental review of public water service expansion across five roads. The board approved a $7,647 Unity Tree Mural using ARPA funds and a $3,948.65 conference room video recording system.
Court Clerk Cathy Ripton-Davis was promoted to full-time status at $20.10 per hour, effective June 1, while a proposal for town-issued cell phones failed on a 2-2 vote.
